Alexandra Abreu Boria

Alexandra Abreu Boria (she/her/ella) is a proud Latina; born and raised in Puerto Rico, where she fostered her desire to inspire social change. She is an avid racial justice and health equity activist, a macro social worker, DEI consultant, and rare disease advocate. To that end, Alexandra is committed to dismantling systemic oppression by challenging health care systems.

Currently, Alexandra serves as a project manager for the Community Solutions for Health Equity program, funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, at Community Catalyst. In her role, she provides strategic support to grassroots advocacy groups to influence policy changes in the health care system that reflect the needs of low-income and communities of color. She believes in accountability and healing, with the understanding that communities have the power to foster change. Thus, she centers the voices of marginalized communities to build strategic avenues for power and knowledge sharing.

Alexandra is a New Leaders Council Fellow, DEI consultant with Believe Limited, and Board Member of the Hemophilia Association of Puerto Rico. Her previous experience focused on international development efforts in Latin America and with USAID in the Middle East.

Alexandra holds a bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Latin American & Caribbean Studies with a minor in Law and Politics from the State University of New York at New Paltz and a Masters of Social Work in International Welfare and Social Policy from Columbia University School of Social Work.
